Maja Berglund

Maja Berglund was born and raised in Finnsnes. She has nurtured a passion for painting and drawing since early childhood, a love that only deepened with time. Her artistic journey began with realistic drawing, eventually expanding to acrylics and then oil painting after high school. Cubism, with its expressive forms and fragmented perspectives, has always captivated her and naturally became the core style in her work.

Her cubist pieces reflect the influence of Georgy Kurasov and Picasso, while she also draws inspiration from the rich, warm palettes of Gustav Klimt and Frida Kahlo.

Berglund’s compositions are alive with vibrant, warm colors, and her subjects often explore human relationships, dance, live music, and the beauty of everyday moments, often infused with subtle hints of romance.

Inspired by poetry, music, and scenes from daily life, Berglund’s work seeks to convey the complex emotions found within relationships, as well as the fundamental feelings that resonate within us all.
